Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join a high-performing analytics team within a major infrastructure organisation.


The successful candidate will work closely with internal business units to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful insights through visualisations and dashboards, primarily using Power BI. This role offers broad visibility across enterprise reporting initiatives and strong exposure to operational and commercial data.


Contract Summary

  • Rate: Based on experience
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Work Model: Hybrid – minimum 3 days in office
  • Location: Sydney CBD


Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish high-quality reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful visualisations and actionable insights using Power BI.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Review existing reporting assets to identify rationalisation and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement Row Level Security (RLS) within Power BI to manage controlled data access.
  • Ensure data integrity by identifying and resolving gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
  • Promote standardised analytics practices to reduce duplication and improve collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across operational and commercial teams.
  • Provide guidance and support to broader analytics teams to uplift capability and adoption.
  • Champion data-driven decision making across the organisation.
  • Support additional reporting and analytical initiatives as required.


Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Analyst.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a Business Intelligence role focused on dashboard development.
  • Advanced Power BI capability, including report modelling and RLS implementation.
  • Strong SQL skills and advanced DAX experience.
  • Proven experience working with large datasets, data transformation, and data cleansing.
  • Strong ability to present complex data in a clear, easily understood format.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured and organised manner.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.


Highly Regarded

  • Experience with Maximo.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP.
  • Tertiary qualifications in analytics, business, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, or electricity network environments.
