In this role, expect to

  • Manage a multi-region Kubernetes platform handling billions of requests a

month across the globe.

  • Work closely with engineering teams, giving them the tools and skills to deploy,

maintain, and monitor their applications on our platform.

  • Monitor the state-of-health of the infrastructure, helping to diagnose the root-

cause of errors and alerts when they occur -- better yet, before they occur.

  • Identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies or techniques into our

workflow that improve service reliability and/or increase automation of rote tasks.

  • Provide support to our current infrastructure and day to day requirements.
  • Be part of our 24/7 support shifts.

To succeed in this role, you should

  • Have several years experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure,

ideally in Amazon Web Services.

  • Extensive, hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Grok the web stack; you can manage SSL certificates and DNS entries in your

sleep.

  • Have experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Be a fast learner and passionate about discovering new technologies.
  • Have an eye for security, striving to minimize attack surfaces and vulnerabilities.
  • Come with strong opinions on how to simplify and improve our stack.
  • Be comfortable wearing a Solutions Engineer hat, helping teams to troubleshoot

issues ranging from ingress routing to resource allocation to permissions

administration.

  • Have great scripting skills (bash and python)
  • Be able to provide and receive feedback constantly.
  • Make documentation on the fly.
  • Take CI/CD pipeline building seriously even better if it’s with Github Actions.
