Algoan is a Fintech founded in 2018 that transforms the way credit decisions are made through its scoring and budget analysis solutions based on Open Banking. Our API-based products enable financial institutions to optimize their decision-making processes by analyzing the banking data of loan applicants.


As a European leader in this field, we collaborate with major players (Sofinco, Cofidis, Revolut, etc.) to enhance user experience and acceptance rates while reducing the risk of over-indebtedness across various use cases (installment payments, consumer credit, car financing, etc.). Algoan strives to make credit more accessible to a broader audience, with security and compliance at the heart of its priorities.

Tasks

We are looking for a motivated and talented Data Science Intern to review performance and improve our models. This internship is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact project at the core of our product offering, in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Under the supervision of a Senior Data Scientist, you will:



  • Explore, preprocess, and enrich Open Banking datasets to extract meaningful features.

  • Benchmark model performance with respect to existing models, and business objectives such as acceptance and default rates on our different portfolios.

  • Identify and mitigate biases, ensure model robustness and regulatory compliance.

  • Present findings and results internally and possibly to clients.

  • Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to improve the models.


Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar.

  • Solid knowledge in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms.

  • Strong analytical skills, autonomy, and problem-solving mindset.

  • Solid Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter, etc.).

  • Interest in fintech and responsible credit scoring.

  • Experience with scoring models development is a strong plus.
