The Role
We're an Irish Education start up building a well defined personalised learning MVP for some of our in person students.
We have a skilled team of in person tutors, a strong customer base, and a clear product roadmap. We need a junior developer to build our MVP and do a little work automating some of our ops.
You'll be working directly with the founder and an experienced AI adviser to ship a real product over an 8-10 week window. This product is well defined and will have a small number of initial real users.
You'll also brief a team of 3 engineers for a short one day hackathon we have been selected for.
Location
Ability to be in Dublin for a weekly coffee check in.. And a longer onboarding session at the start. Otherwise fully remote and work around your own schedule.
What You'll Build
- Full-stack web application for an education product used by real students and tutors. Small numbers to start (25-35 users)
- Backend API (Python — Flask or FastAPI)
- Frontend (React or HTML/CSS/JS)
What We're Looking For
- Recent graduate or early-career developer (0-2 years)
- Comfortable with Python and at least one frontend framework
- Comfortable using AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to move fast
- Has built something — a side project, a college project, etc.
- Interested in Maths Learning, startups, or both
- Available 12-15 hours per week through to May 2026
Qualities we're looking for
- Do you enjoy having the independence to forge ahead and get something working.. with a team around you for check-ins and guidance.
- Can you build things that solve a problem or improve a process for a real user.
Compensation
€250/week for 12-15 hours. Flexible schedule. Potential for increased hours and equity participation as the company grows.
