Company Description
Zinto Labs is an animal and environmental genomics company specialising in genetic testing and research. Alongside its laboratory services, the company develops digital systems that support operational workflows and informed decision-making in animal and environmental genomics. Our platforms focus on data integration and the visualisation of complex scientific datasets.
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of both internal platforms and customer-facing systems. This part-time role is suited to an experienced engineer with strong architectural judgement and a track record of delivering reliable production systems.
Role Description
This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Dublin, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will contribute to designing, building, and maintaining scalable applications. Daily responsibilities include developing clean and efficient code for both front-end and back-end systems, integrating APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine project goals, and ensuring the performance and security of software solutions.
Required Experience
Backend & Data
- Strong Python experience in production environments (FastAPI or similar)
- Relational database design, indexing, and query optimisation
- Asynchronous processing, background jobs, and fault-tolerant patterns
Frontend
- Advanced React and TypeScript
- Experience building performant interfaces for complex or high-volume data
- Maintainable CSS/JS architecture suitable for long-term growth
Infrastructure
- Experience with AWS and/or Heroku
- CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
- Containerised deployments and cloud debugging
Professional Profile
- Experience designing and operating production systems
- Sound judgement in balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Ability to work independently from high-level objectives
- Strong code review and technical documentation practices
