GENERAL MANAGER ITALY (M/F)
Reporting to the Managing Director Europe, the General Manager is based in Milan and is responsible for developing the brand’s activities and profitability in Italy in a sustainable way. He/She is in charge of managing, leading and developing commercial (5 FSS / 2 FRS / 100 multi-brand doors) and marketing strategy and activities to develop TAG Heuer market share and image in the area. He/She manages a 30-people team including Wholesale, Retail, Marketing, HR, Finance and Operations.
Job Responsibilities
Your main accountabilities will be the following:
Sales and Business Development:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key local stakeholders (clients, partners, industry influencers, LVMH group…) to drive strategic partnerships and alliances
- Analyze brand competition, market trends, propose potential new projects
- Collaborate with regional and HQ teams to drive retail excellence and omnichannel transformation
- Manage sales development and market-share growth both in wholesale and retail
- Develop a strong and efficient relationship with local partners in wholesale
- Identify retail opportunities and propose potential new projects (Direct Retail, Franchise or Wholesale)
- Set-up actions to boost sales (staff training, incentives, stores refurbishment, assortments…)
- Define and manage budget and profitability for each store and account
- Define and execute mid- and long-term brand strategy
- Control the brand performance (turnover, net operating income, market share, share of voice) and readjust the commercial and marketing strategy to meet business objectives
- Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to optimize profitability
- Propose organizational evolution to support business and people needs
- Oversee staffing for E&M open positions, ensure that all recruits meet the company standards in terms of skills, experience, qualifications, and potential
- Ensure that all employees are receiving a proper support in Career Development: regular performance and development feedback, annual evaluations, training
- Provide leadership and share the company vision to motivate and retain staff
- Define the implementation of the full media, PR and communication strategy supporting the development of the Brand image
- Increase brand passion and awareness with all stakeholders: final consumers, distributors, POS owners and retail staff
- Give regional and HQ teams relevant feedback and reporting on product development needs and marketing tools
- Ensure that all activities are compliant with local regulations and corporate standards
- Ensure that regional teams, HQ and LVMH group are provided with the relevant information to monitor the activity: financial reports, staff reports, audits, business reviews
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of products or services within the market
- Optimize resource allocation and manage operational risks.
- Directly manage support functions in the SSC (Finance, HR), lead of assessment and compensation processes for them
- Legally represent the SSC and be accountable of compliance topics operated by the SCC (internal control, RJC, E&C, security/safety)
- Animate the Local Comex
- Arbitrate on SSC issues with a neutral stance when needed
- Maintain a relevant relationship / communication with the HQ of Hosted Maisons and the Division
Graduated with a recognized master’s degree, you have already acquired a minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales and/or Marketing positions with a strong retail background, ideally in selective distribution, luxury, or premium products. You are fluent in Italian and English, and you are familiar with the area. You have significant knowledge of the luxury sector and you are passionate about new trends in lifestyle, arts, new technologies and sports. Self-starter, you are able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a demonstrated ability to drive growth and achieve results. You demonstrate a good financial acumen and have experience in managing budgets and financial performance. You are energetic, self-motivated, action and results-oriented thanks to strong organizational skills. Customer focused, open-minded, and adaptable, you are also known for your excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You show high levels of collaboration and use your influence to become a recognized leader, with a strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
