WHAT WE DO

We are set up to provide our customers with end-to-end support in the process of developing software solutions:

• Business need analysis, design of functional and non-functional requirements, system analysis, support for business transformation and IT/business consultancy;
• User interface and experience design and development for mobile and desktop applications;
• Front and back-end development in a wide range of technologies: Java, .NET, Ruby, GoLang, Oracle, Python.
• Complete Data Warehouse solutions from architecture, design and implementation using mainly Vertica, Oracle and Microsoft platforms.
• Avalanche has been the central counterparty for multiple major banking projects in the Scandinavia and Baltics, in areas such as lending automation, regulatory reporting and calculations, integrations, governance, risk and compliance, Basel II/III, Stress Testing, AML/KYC.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience working with Kafka on Confluent Platform to join a long-term engagement with Swedbank.

You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of a business-critical event streaming platform used across multiple systems in a large banking environment. This is a consulting-level position requiring deep technical competence, structured problem-solving, and confident stakeholder communication.

You will work closely with development teams, infrastructure specialists, and internal platform users to maintain operational excellence and guide best practices in event-driven architecture.

DO YOU HAVE...

🌟 Strong hands-on experience operating and supporting Kafka on the Confluent Platform.

🌟 Experience administering Kafka (topics, configurations, ACLs, access control).

🌟 Experience monitoring Kafka clusters to ensure stability, performance, and reliability.

🌟 Deep understanding of event-driven and streaming architectures in distributed systems.

🌟 Strong troubleshooting skills across message flow, performance bottlenecks, and system incidents.

🌟 Ability to analyze complex technical dependencies and resolve root causes effectively.

🌟 Experience advising development teams on Kafka usage, architecture patterns, and best practices.

🌟 Experience maintaining structured and accurate technical documentation.
