As a Backend Developer for our client in Amsterdam you’ll join a compact, international backend team. The team develops key functionality that helps customers understand and manage their personal finances, including spending categorisation and fixed‑cost insights. You’ll work closely with internal engineering teams, a dedicated frontend team and external fintech partners.

Your Job

You’ll build and enhance backend services and APIs that support a large user base. The environment combines Python‑based Azure Functions, FastAPI services and Java Spring applications. The team works with event‑driven patterns using Azure Service Bus and Kafka, all running in Azure Cloud with a mix of serverless and containerised setups.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience with Python and/or Java
• Strong API development experience (Python or Java Spring)
• Comfortable working across multiple teams and external vendors
• Proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on improvement
• Experience with FastAPI
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud services
