We are looking for a versatile Android Engineer to join a cutting-edge team working on next-generation Android Automotive experiences and platform products. This role combines hands-on feature development with architectural ownership, focusing on both in-vehicle applications and scalable Android frameworks and components used across multiple products and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Android Automotive (AAOS) applications.
  • Build and maintain reusable components across apps, services, libraries, and SDKs.
  • Integrate Android applications with backend services, APIs, AI, and voice interfaces.
  • Define and enforce clean architecture patterns, coding standards, and modular design principles.
  • Analyze existing systems to identify duplication and drive standardization and reusability.
  • Optimize applications and platform components for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency in constrained environments.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive UX and driver distraction guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and external partners (OEMs).
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release processes.
  • Debug complex issues across embedded hardware, multiple OS versions, and production environments.
  • Support integrations and participate in technical discussions with stakeholders when needed.
  • Document architectural decisions, best practices, and implementation guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Android development.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java is a plus).
  • Experience building production-grade Android applications or platform components.
  • Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and Jetpack.
  • Proven experience in modularization, refactoring, and scalable system design.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development workflows.
  • Experience working with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or embedded Android environments.
  • Understanding of in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems is highly valued.
