At Shakers, we are partnering with a leading industrial group in Portugal undergoing a strong data-driven transformation. The company is investing in advanced analytics to optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making across business units.

We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong hands-on experience in predictive modeling and applied machine learning to support high-impact initiatives.

🎯 Project Scope

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to leverage data for process optimization and innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Data extraction, cleaning, and structuring from complex industrial datasets
• Development and deployment of predictive models to optimize processes
• Application of statistical and machine learning techniques to generate actionable insights
• Implementation of boosting frameworks (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost)
• Managing ML lifecycle and experimentation using MLflow
• Communicating findings through clear presentations and visualizations
• Contributing to standardization of data management practices

This role requires both technical depth and the ability to influence decision-making through data.

• Solid experience in Data Science & Machine Learning
• Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
• Strong SQL proficiency
• Experience with boosting frameworks (XGBoost, LightGBM or CatBoost)
• Practical experience with MLflow (MLOps lifecycle management)
• Strong analytical mindset and communication skills
• Fluent English
