Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their DevOps Engineer (Snowflake Plotform OR Data bricks Plotform ) @ Madrid, Spain (Hybrid Working - 1 Day Onsite / Week)

Key area:

Snowflake One :

• Operate and enhance the Snowflake platform across multiple clouds (Azure, AWS)
• Automate infrastructure and Snowflake object deployments with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and support the migration to GitHub.
• Ensure secure, compliant connectivity and storage configuration in Azure (and emerging AWS workloads).
• Optimize Snowflake usage around cost, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and data teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Actively participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies and cross-team collaboration initiatives.
• Required Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Engineering, including networking (VNETs, routing, DNS, private endpoints), identity, and storage.
• Experience operating and administering Snowflake:
• Warehouses, RBAC, databases, schemas, resource monitors
• External tables, stages, integrations (Azure mainly)
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of enterprise cloud networking and security best practices.
• Experience with observability and audit logging tools.
• Familiarity with Agile/Safe methodologies

Data bricks one :

• Strong Cloud Engineering expertise, primarily Azure (VNETs, DNS, NSG, Load Balancing, routing, identity, private networking).
• Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
• CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps; familiarity with GitHub is a plus.
• Proficiency with Databricks platform administration:
• Workspaces, cluster policies, job orchestration
• Unity Catalog, metastore configuration
• Storage integration (ADLS)
• Solid understanding of cloud networking in enterprise environments.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Databricks in AWS (IAM roles, S3, networking models).
• Familiarity with FinOps principles.
