Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a User Experience Trainee, based in Bruxelles, Belgium, starting from 8th of March until the 28th of February, 2027.


Are you passionate about solving problems from a human-centered perspective? Do you thrive on applying design thinking principles such as empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing? Join our team as a UX Research Trainee, where you’ll work closely with and be mentored by experienced UX designers who will guide you as you grow your skills and confidence in the field. In this role, you will: Conduct user research, create user journeys, perform UX/UI audits, and lead interviews to influence design decisions that improve both the patient experience and employee productivity at UCB. Design, prototype, and create wireframes in Figma that will bring ideas to life and support the development of custom-built digital solutions across multiple domains. Contribute to the design and enrichment of our internal platform for agentic and generative AI, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology that is transforming the way people work and interact with digital solutions.


As a UX Research Trainee with UCB, you’ll:

• Conduct user research using interviews, surveys, and usability tests

• Analyze and synthesize insights to shape product design decisions

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, product)

• Support prototyping and understand how UX drives business value


Qualifications

• Currently a student or recent graduate (typically Bachelor’s/Master’s level) in a related field such as Computer Science, Software Development, UX/UI, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar disciplines (as indicated by the background categories on the opportunity)

• Strong interest in UX research, user-centered design, and human behavior analysis

• Proficiency in English (required for communication and collaboration in an international environment)

• Experience or coursework in user research methods, usability testing, surveys, interviews, data analysis, or prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) is a plus

• Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate across functions and cultures
