The ideal candidate is a seasoned Data Scientist with 3–5 years of experience who bridges the gap between robust data engineering, scientific discovery, and machine learning optimization. They must be a Python and SQL expert capable of both maintaining complex ETL pipelines and performing sophisticated image analysis to support R&D initiatives. Beyond technical prowess, they should demonstrate a commitment to FAIR data principles and possess the communication skills necessary to document processes and ensure seamless project continuity.

Tasks & Responsibilities:


  • Maintain Data Integration Tools: Manage and troubleshoot our existing data integration pipelines that feed our AI models, ensuring data quality and availability.
  • Support AI Development: Collaborate with the R&D team to support the ongoing training, validation, and optimization of machine learning and AI models.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform data analysis to extract insights, support research questions, and provide clear reports to the team.
  • Troubleshoot & Problem-Solve: Address technical challenges related to data access, software limitations, and model performance.
  • Ensure Project Continuity: Work closely with the existing team to ensure all project timelines and deliverables are met during the contract period.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of processes and any modifications made to existing systems.



Must Haves:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a data science or data analytics role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and its scientific computing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with the principles of ETL and experience with data pipeline management.
  • A foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and models.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a technical team.
  • Familiarity with FAIR data principles.
  • Experience with Image analysis techniques.
