Step into a role where modern Java engineering and hands-on DevOps come together to keep critical services fast, observable, and reliable in production. We’re not only migrating applications - we’re building a cloud-ready Spring Boot platform that can be operated with confidence. You’ll help transform legacy JBoss-based solutions into services designed for scalability, resilience, and continuous delivery, while actively owning what happens after “it’s deployed”.
Key Responsibilities
Modernization & engineering
- Migrate WildFly/JBoss applications to Spring Boot, replacing EJB/JMS with simpler, cloud‑ready components.
- Keep codebases evergreen using OpenRewrite, Renovate, and AI‑assisted analysis to reduce repetitive work and surface risks early.
- Pair‑code and accelerate delivery using GitHub Copilot and other AI tooling.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and configuration management.
- Support and enhance Kubernetes‑based runtime environments.
- Implement safe rollout strategies (blue/green, canary, automated smoke checks).
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to production incidents.
- Diagnose issues under real‑world constraints, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and preventive engineering.
- Implement and evolve logging, metrics, and tracing across services.
- Build meaningful dashboards and alerts to ensure fast detection and consistent debugging.
- Promote observability‑by‑design practices across the team.
- Create and maintain integration, regression, and smoke tests to protect deployments and migrations.
- Ensure that modernization work does not compromise production stability.
Must‑have qualifications:
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and REST interfaces.
- Willingness to participate in on‑call duty, coordinated within the team.
- Experience working in production environments with real operational responsibility.
- Experience with Kubernetes or cloud‑native environments.
- Familiarity with Camunda Process Engine.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy) for automation and tooling.
Work is conducted in a hybrid system: 3 days a week from office in Warsaw, Lublin or Poznań.
