What you'll do:

As a Software Development Engineer - Level 3 (SDE3) you will be responsible for designing and implementing systems across one of our engineering teams. This is an open-ended role given our teams are in constant need of experienced engineers, so the final team will only be known at the time of clearing the interview process.

In this position, you will be owning specific, narrow segments of noon.com and drive their development. You will closely collaborate with stakeholders directly impacted by those segments, mentor and train junior colleagues as well as contribute to the overall quality of our core tech stack.

Note: this is an AI-enabled engineering position – we want candidates who apply to be well-versed with AI tooling for software development, understand how and when to use it and cognizant of trade-offs and where problems may hide. Noon is journeying into integrating AI into our standard software engineering lifecycle, and we’d like folks we hire to be catalysts of that transition.

• Own narrow segments of our marketplace, being able to both understand stakeholders’ requirements as well as well as the impact that those will have into our stack
• Develop clean and effective engineering solutions to our business problems
• Design fault-tolerant, highly available distributed systems
• Be able to translate requirements into bug-free working code
• Be a strong advocate for avoiding accidental complexity when designing processes & systems
• Mentor and lead more junior members of the engineering team

What you'll need -

• Familiar with our core stack (Python / FastAPI / Pydantic / Golang / MySQL)
• Versed with GCP-native databases such as BigTable / Spanner
• Very familiar with (and confident writing) SQL
• At least 3/6 years working experience
• Understand how to leverage AI to boost productivity, how to steer agents and when to do things by hand
• Experienced with distributed systems
• A self directed personality and ability to work independently
• Prior experience within the e-commerce industry
