UI Designer
Berlin (2/3 days onsite per week)
My client is a health tech company based in Berlin building mobile products that people rely on daily to manage their health. Design isn't a support function here, it's central to what they make and how they compete.
They're looking for a UI Designer who cares deeply about the craft of mobile interfaces: the clarity of a screen that doesn't need explaining, the logic of a component system that scales, the feel of an interaction that just works. Someone who wants to own their work end-to-end, not execute someone else's vision.
The role
You'll lead design across your own product areas, from discovery through to shipping, on their iOS and Android apps. There's no senior designer above you translating strategy into briefs. You'll be in the room when product direction is set, and your decisions will ship. The team is small and senior, which means high trust, high autonomy, and real accountability.
You'll design pixel-perfect mobile UI, maintain and evolve the Figma component library, run usability sessions with real users, and work closely with engineers during build. You'll also help shape how the design team works, critique culture, design principles, the lot.
What they're looking for
- 3+ years designing mobile apps (iOS and/or Android, native, not just responsive web)
- A portfolio that demonstrates genuine craft: typography, hierarchy, interaction, system thinking
- Strong Figma skills
- Someone comfortable with ambiguity who can drive their own work forward
- Based in Berlin, or happy to relocate
