NexVentur is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a significant build project based in County Mayo, and join our clients team who are a well established Civil & Build contractor.


Our client have a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the public and private sectors - ranging from civil engineering and industrial builds to commercial and healthcare infrastructure.


This is a site-based role involving a project with 2+ year timeline.


The successful candidate will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, ensuring the build is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.



Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of a major construction/civil project in Mayo, acting as the primary point of contact for the client, design team, and stakeholders.
  • Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules.
  • Ensure all milestones are met and proactively manage any potential deviations to maintain the 2+ year delivery timeline.
  • Manage project budgets, procurement, and cost-control measures.
  • Work closely with the Quantity Surveying team to manage sub-contractor accounts and monthly valuations.
  • Conduct regular site audits and ensure all work complies with BCAR and technical specifications.
  • Lead and mentor on-site staff, including Site Engineers and Foremen. Manage the selection and performance of sub-contractors to ensure seamless coordination of trades.
  • Provide regular progress reports to Senior Management and clients, highlighting KPIs, budgetary status, and any project risks or opportunities.



Skills & Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Construction Management / Project Management, with a track record of managing large-scale civil or building projects from inception to completion.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and contract management (GCCC, RIAI, or similar). Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or AutoCAD) is essential.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must be a "forward thinker" with the ability to solve complex problems under pressure and lead a diverse site team.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in County Mayo for the duration of the project (2+ years).


Pay and package

  • Competitive pay and package (€75,000 - €85,000) depending on experience
