Senior / Lead Software Engineer (Frontend Mastery) | Synthesia

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior or Lead Engineer with deep frontend expertise to spearhead the next evolution of our product interface.

Your Impact & Strategic Ownership

• End-to-End Execution: Take charge of the full feature lifecycle, from our React client to the Python backend, ensuring every release is secure, high-performance, and impactful.
• Complex UI Design: Architect sophisticated user interactions and responsive interfaces that make high-end AI video tools feel seamless and intuitive.
• Technical Roadmap Leadership: Manage multi-month initiatives by translating high-level product visions into concrete, iterative technical milestones.
• Product Strategy Partnership: Work as a peer to Product Managers. You are expected to provide the technical perspective that shapes the commercial success of our features.
• Data-Informed Iteration: Leverage our robust data pipelines to analyze feature performance against business goals, allowing for rapid pivots based on real-world usage.
• Engineering Foresight: Anticipate technical challenges 6–12 months in advance, building the core capabilities required to maintain our competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• The Essentials: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Senior or Lead capacity.
• Proven Track Record: Success within high-velocity teams at top-tier scale-ups or tech organizations known for world-class engineering standards.
• Frontend Mastery: A deep passion for complex UI and modern client-side stacks. While you are a Frontend specialist, you are happy to contribute to the backend (Python) to ensure project success.
• Enterprise SaaS Background: Experience developing complex tools like real-time collaboration engines, video editors, or experimentation platforms.
• Commercially Driven: You thrive in "no-politics" environments and are motivated by the measurable success of the products you build.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Prior experience leading small engineering squads or mentoring junior talent is highly valued.
