Job Title: Scrum Master

Location: Toronto, ON.

Pay Rate: $62 - $67/hr depending on experience.

12-month contract.


Public sector experience preferred.


Must Haves:


  • Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 5+ year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory



Professional Knowledge & Expertise

  • Solid understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK, Agile Scrum principles, and Information Management concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Proficient in Azure DevOps for user stories, Kanban boards, pipelines, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards.
  • Ability to recommend software, hardware, and technology solutions.
  • Experienced in project monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and improving project effectiveness.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving conflicts between projects and functional areas.
  • Capable of managing client relationships, expectations, and communications.


Scrum & Agile Experience

  • 5+ years as Scrum Master for software development teams following Scrum principles.
  • Facilitates Scrum ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and customer journey/story mapping.
  • Works closely with Product Owners for backlog management and sprint forecasting.
  • Champions Scrum framework across teams and multiple Scrum initiatives.
  • Ensures collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and visibility within the delivery team.
  • Experienced in resolving resource conflicts and negotiating changes.
  • Able to rapidly prioritize competing requirements and plan proactively.


Project Management & Technical Skills

  • Generates reports, burn-down charts, and queries in Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Java, Oracle, and IBM BPM.
  • Creates project schedules, plans, issue & risk logs, status reports, and supporting artifacts (Change/Risk Management Plans).
  • Manages multiple simultaneous application development projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Collaborates with internal/external clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile development concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Office, and Visio.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and technical/business aptitude.
  • Self-motivated leader with persistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
  • Project rescue/triage experience is an asset; government experience is a plus.
