UK Based
At StarCompliance, we build software that supports critical compliance needs for global clients. We rely on experienced engineers not only to deliver high-quality code, but to help shape how teams work and how systems evolve.
We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to play a key role within one of our Product Engineering teams. This role is suited to highly capable engineers who combine strong technical expertise with sound judgement, a service mindset, and a collaborative approach.
You will remain hands-on, delivering complex work and solving difficult problems, while also taking responsibility for the overall quality and effectiveness of the service provided by your team. You will act as a technical reference point, supporting others, guiding decisions, and helping ensure the team delivers sustainable, reliable outcomes.
How you work is critical. We value Lead Engineers who communicate clearly, build trust, challenge ideas constructively, and take ownership not just of code, but of outcomes.
How We Think About AI
At StarCompliance, AI is not a side experiment or an isolated specialist capability. We treat it as a foundational part of modern software engineering and SaaS platform development.
We expect engineers to:
Actively use AI-assisted engineering tools as part of their daily workflow
Apply AI to improve design quality, development velocity, automation depth, operational insight, and overall engineering effectiveness.
Ensure AI-generated outputs are validated, auditable, and compliant with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
Understand and manage the risks associated with AI use in regulated environments.
Adopt AI responsibly, pragmatically, and at scale in ways that strengthen engineering outcomes without compromising governance.
For Engineering, AI is a force multiplier - accelerating delivery, improving quality, enhancing diagnostic capability, and strengthening release confidence. It must be applied with architectural discipline and measurable impact
