The Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the provision of administrative support and data management, and coordination of relevant activities associated with delivering end-to-end recruitment campaigns, for the Youth Detention Centres including the new Woodford Detention Centre. The role of the team is to drive recruitment and selection of frontline human service professionals and other roles within the detention centres. Within this scope you will support the function to achieve organisational goals, by delivering quality and accurate advice to stakeholders.

This role provides support in the planning of end-to-end recruitment and onboarding and the selection of applicants for detention centre roles, communicating with candidates, compiling recruitment data, and other related recruitment activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager and the team to deliver end-to-end recruitment campaigns for Detention Youth Workers and/or other operational staff as required.
  • Provide high level administrative support by utilising technology applications and systems confidently to deliver an efficient and effective service.
  • Actively establish, maintain, update and navigate records and data management systems to resolve and process recruitment enquiries and requests.
  • Schedule interviews and other assessments in consultation with senior team members and follow up with applicants as required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain administrative and office systems and processes, to ensure high quality service delivery. This will include ensuring data is accurate to enable the provision of accurate and relevant information to the team and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain professional client relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to create positive working partnerships which facilitate quality human resource management service delivery, practice and outcomes.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports related to youth detention recruitment to effectively contribute to service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain sound and current knowledge of human resource management practices to ensure contemporary human resource solutions are delivered to clients.
  • Participate as part of a team in which all members' contributions are valued and encouraged.


We have 3 positions - 1 x Permanent, 1 x Temporary 31 December 2027 and 1 x Temporary 30 June 2027
