We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a major network uplift and security transformation program within the education sector. This role sits within a high-performing Cyber Operations team and will play a key part in delivering secure, scalable network solutions across complex enterprise environments.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering large-scale network changes, particularly enterprise microsegmentation, and who is confident working across both physical and cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure network solutions across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
• Deliver enterprise-level network uplift and microsegmentation initiatives
• Provide technical leadership and advisory on network architecture, segmentation strategy, and security controls
• Configure, manage, and optimise firewalls and network security infrastructure
• Collaborate with cyber security, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Support network monitoring, incident response, and ongoing operational improvements
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of network standards, documentation, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer within large, complex enterprise environments
• Demonstrated experience delivering network uplift, transformation, or microsegmentation projects
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• AWS networking and cloud security
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Cisco networking and firewall technologies
• Strong understanding of network security principles, segmentation, and access controls
• Experience designing and implementing secure network architectures

Highly Regarded

• Experience working within the education sector or large public-sector environments
• Experience with network monitoring tools and incident management processes
• Exposure to Cyber Operations or Security Operations environments
