馃幆 Role Summary:
The Packet Core Engineer will act as the primary technical expert for the implementation and integration of Evolved Packet Core (EPC) networks, focusing primarily on Nokia Packet Core technologies, including CMM/CMG, as well as 5G components such as NRF and NSSF. This professional will handle complex integration activities on mobile networks, collaborate directly with clients, and ensure effective commissioning and troubleshooting of high-performance telecom environments.
馃З Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead and point of contact for EPC network implementation and integration activities once the network design is finalized.
- Execute commissioning, instantiation, integration, and advanced troubleshooting of Nokia ATCA SGSN/GGSN, CMM (Cloud Mobility Manager), and CMG (Cloud Mobility Gateway) platforms.
- Deploy and maintain core network elements in both physical and virtualized environments, including NFV/cloud-based infrastructures.
- Ensure successful end-to-end integration of Packet Core solutions within multi-vendor environments.
- Implement and manage 5G core network functions, specifically Network Repository Function (NRF) and Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF):
- NRF: Serve as a central repository enabling service discovery and registration for network functions within the 5G core.
- NSSF: Facilitate network slice selection, supporting the allocation of dedicated network resources per service type (eMBB, URLLC, mMTC).
- Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to ensure technical consistency, proper documentation, and effective issue resolution.
- Share technical knowledge and provide mentorship and training to customer engineers as needed.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
馃摎 Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Mobile Packet Core networks and functionality of SGSN, GGSN, S-GW, P-GW, MME.
- Solid understanding of GSM/Packet-Core/EPC networks, IP routing, signaling protocols, and GPRS call flow with associated interfaces (Gb, Gr, Gn, Gi, Gx, Gy, Gz).
Hands-on experience with:
- Nokia ATCA SGSN/GGSN
- Nokia virtualized EPC solutions including CMM/CMG
- 5G Core Functions: NRF and NSSF
- Experience integrating and managing virtualized/cloud-native Packet Core environments (NFV, OpenStack, VMWare or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with adjacent third-party network elements:
- Infoblox DNS
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- Juniper and Cisco Routers/Switches
- Strong knowledge of Packet Core services, customer network environments, and NI/Care operations.
- Ability to design and execute comprehensive test cases and integration scripts for live deployments.
