Manager, Climate Analytics

As Manager, Climate Analytics, you will collaborate closely with the Climate Strategy team, Business Units, and Risk Management teams. Your primary responsibility will be to analyse the opportunities and risks posed by climate change, providing critical insights to inform decision-making and strategy. This role is pivotal in helping the bank meet its climate commitments while continuing to create value for shareholders and navigate climate-related risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Defining Climate Analytics Priorities: Work with colleagues across Climate Strategy, Business Units, and Risk Management to prioritise climate analysis, focusing on understanding physical and transition risks.
• Conducting Climate Analytics: Utilise multiple analytical techniques to translate global climate scenarios into potential impacts for the bank, drawing out key implications.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to translate analysis into actionable insights, informing strategic decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong interest in and knowledge of global climate scenarios, methodologies, and strategies.
• Exceptional quantitative analysis and coding skills.
• Experience in risk quantification within the insurance or banking industry, including estimating the impact of extreme weather on real estate assets and calculating expected credit losses for lending portfolios under various economic scenarios.
• The ability to extract key business and risk insights from complex data analysis and communicate them clearly and concisely to senior management.
• Exceptional conceptual and analytical skills, strong business acumen, and excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with differing views.
• Understanding credit risks and credit risk modelling.
