About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong AWS infrastructure and orchestration expertise to join a backend team built primarily on serverless architecture.

The system runs mostly on AWS Lambdas, with GraphQL (Apollo + AppSync) as the API layer and a small number of Fargate services. The architecture is currently being redesigned, and this role will play a key part in shaping backend execution flow, reliability, and orchestration patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine backend services using Node.js / TypeScript
• Design and maintain AWS Step Functions workflows
• Improve orchestration patterns across Typescript Lambda-based services
• Enhance system reliability, monitoring, and tracing
• Identify architectural improvements and propose better backend patterns
• Contribute to infrastructure decisions as the system evolves
• Collaborate closely with API and product teams to ensure backend stability

Mandatory Skills

• 6+ years of professional experience
• Strong TypeScript / Node background
• Strong experience with AWS Step Functions and serverless orchestration
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambdas in production
• Experience implementing observability (monitoring, logging, tracing)
• Solid understanding of backend infrastructure and distributed systems
• Proactive mindset, able to suggest and drive improvements

Nice to Have

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code
• Exposure to Rust (not critical)
• Familiarity with hybrid search systems or vector-based architectures
