We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native technologies to help build, scale, and secure our modern infrastructure platform. You will play a critical role in shaping our Infrastructure-as-Code foundation, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and driving Kubernetes best practices across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex production environments, enjoys automation, and takes ownership of reliability, scalability, and security.
Specific responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and manage scalable, production-grade infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt
- Design reusable modules and enforce best practices across environments
- Ensure infrastructure is cost-effective, secure, and highly available
- Design, build, and optimize sophisticated GitLab CI pipelines
- Enable rapid, safe, and reliable deployments across multiple environments
- Implement automated testing, security scanning, and release workflows
- Develop automation tooling using Python or Go
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex Kubernetes workloads
- Create and maintain Helm charts for application packaging
- Manage sidecars, batch jobs, and microservices-based architectures
- Work directly with the Kubernetes API and object model
- Implement security controls and hardening strategies
- Enhance monitoring, observability, and alerting systems
- Design replication and high-availability strategies
- Ensure infrastructure aligns with enterprise compliance standards (e.g., Deutsche Telekom-grade requirements)
- Partner with development teams to optimize Dockerfiles and runtime performance
- Guide teams in designing cloud-native applications
- Promote DevOps culture, best practices, and automation-first thinking
- Contribute to architectural decisions and platform improvements
Skills required:
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) in cloud-native environments
- Expert-level, hands-on experience with Terraform and Terragrunt
- Deep practical knowledge of Kubernetes, including:
a). Kubernetes API and object model
b). Helm packaging and templating
c). Production workload management
- Strong experience building and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred)
- Professional programming/scripting experience in Python or Go
- Strong understanding of:
a). Software development lifecycles
b). Build and release processes
c). Git-based workflows in agile teams
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud provider:
a). AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Solid understanding of microservices architectures
