Position: PhD-Level Life Scientist
Type: Contract
Compensation: $80–$125/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20+ hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Create challenges in molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and proteomics with scientific accuracy.
- Design experimental challenges, evaluating controls, confounders, reproducibility, and data interpretation.
- Develop high-quality training data, including research-level questions, answers, and evaluation rubrics.
- Provide structured feedback on challenges covering wet-lab protocols, computational analysis pipelines, and study design.
- Apply quantitative and bioinformatics reasoning to calibrate model performance on complex biological problems.
- Work independently and asynchronously to ensure scientific rigor and relevance.
Must-Have
- PhD (or MD/PhD) in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioengineering, or systems biology.
- Currently or recently active in academia with ongoing research.
- Hands-on wet-lab experience in designing and executing experiments.
- Strong experimental design and scientific reasoning with expertise in controls, confounders, and reproducibility.
- Bio-focused domain expertise in genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, or proteomics.
- Evidence of research impact through published work or influential contributions.
- Computational and quantitative skills in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistical genetics, or machine learning for omics.
- Breadth across molecular modalities, including DNA/RNA/protein biology, protein assays, and chemical biology exposure.
