This role provides a unique opportunity to lead Agile delivery for mission-critical projects in a collaborative, high-impact environment. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile practices, coach teams, and enable the delivery of high-value solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure effective backlog management, incremental delivery, and transparency across teams. Accountabilities
- Facilitate all Scrum events including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain well-defined, prioritized, and actionable product backlogs
- Remove impediments to team progress and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and report Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down, and team performance for transparency
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, values, and practices
- Support user story development, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions to ensure high-quality delivery
- Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent for backlog management, documentation, and collaboration
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification
- 7+ years facilitating Agile teams, ceremonies, and removing blockers
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with SAFe frameworks
- Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing team dynamics and stakeholder relationships
- Experience supporting distributed or hybrid Agile delivery teams
- Prior federal or DHS-related project experience strongly preferred
- Preferred: advanced Scrum certifications (A-CSM, CSP), experience with Agile scaling frameworks (LeSS, SAFe), and background in software development or technical project delivery
