Job Overview

The post holder will provide essential support to the Cancer Services Management Team across all aspects of business and service

management. The post holder will be the point of contact to provide Cancer performance data and Suspected Cancer Pathway (SCP) guidance, when requested from directorate managers/MDT leads, administrative staff. Provide effective planning, performance development and project management, including responsibility for implementing identified

changes through project management methodologies. The postholder will support and take responsibility for specific performance improvement projects within the service, working closely with the directorate teams, to identify and act upon opportunities for service modernisation.

Main duties of the job

To support the Cancer Services Management Team in monitoring and ensuring compliance with key performance indicators across all

tumour sites, in alignment with the Suspected Cancer Pathway Guidance and National Optimal Cancer Pathways. This will involve the

analysis and interpretation of complex data, with findings presented through formal reports and verbal updates at relevant meetings. The

postholder will play a pivotal role in identifying areas of non-compliance with pathway timelines, escalating concerns to Cancer Services

and Directorate Management Teams. They will also take ownership of defining project timelines, diagnosing issues, and implementing

effective solutions in collaboration with Directorate Managers and services to drive continuous improvement.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in senior administrative role
  • PRINCE project management qualification

  • ECDL qualification
