Mobile App Tester (Android/iOS)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Android/iOS Mobile App Tester to ensure the quality, performance, and stability of our mobile applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience testing native mobile apps, identifying bugs, documenting issues, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to deliver a seamless mobile experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing on Android and iOS devices.
  • Execute test cases, review results, and log defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
  • Test across a wide range of OS versions, device types, screen resolutions, and network conditions.
  • Validate APIs using tools like Postman (if applicable).
  • Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and support debugging.
  • Create, maintain, and update test plans, test scenarios, and test documentation.
  • Conduct UI/UX testing to ensure user‑friendly experience.
  • Perform smoke, sanity, end-to-end, and acceptance testing for mobile releases.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to Agile/Scrum workflows.
  • Provide input on improving testing processes, tools, and automation opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Android and iOS ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with manual mobile app testing.
  • Knowledge of testing concepts:
  • Functional & Non-functional testing
  • Regression testing
  • Exploratory testing
  • Installation/Upgrade testing
  • Experience with mobile debugging tools (ADB, Xcode logs, Charles Proxy optional).
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and bug reports.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Qase, etc.).
  • Understanding of API testing (optional but preferred).
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Understanding of automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest).
  • Experience with performance testing tools like Firebase Performance, Android Profiler.
  • Basic knowledge of version control tools like Git.
  • Exposure to continuous integration environments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.) are a plus.
