Your crew
Join our software development team of 12 engineers, where you’ll develop cutting-edge satellite on-board software for space-bourne instruments. You will develop real-time embedded software for signal processing, communication and house-keeping tasks. You’ll work in a multicultural environment, serving a global customer base and engaging with a broad range of technologies. Your Mission
The Software Engineer develops signal processing algorithms for GNSS receivers and other applications. He/she provides software engineering expertise and service for embedded processing and payload solutions to development projects in the Business Unit Electronic Solutions domain. The Software Engineer is responsible for the satellite on-board software development life-cycle including the requirements, design, implementation, validation and documentation.

Your Mission
The Software Engineer develops signal processing algorithms for GNSS receivers and other applications. He/she provides software engineering expertise and service for embedded processing and payload solutions to development projects in the Business Unit Electronic Solutions domain. The Software Engineer is responsible for the satellite on-board software development life-cycle including the requirements, design, implementation, validation and documentation.
- Performs the work in a collaborative manner within a(n agile) development team
- Understands and applies the software design, development, validation and verification processes and flows
- Codes software modules and inspects the code written by other engineers
- Writes the technical software documents and configures all work items in a version control system
- Designs, implements and performs all kinds of software unit, integration and validation tests at all levels to close requirements
- Pro-actively collaborates with adjacent system, FPGA and HW development teams to develop modular and customizable solutions and product variants
- Participates in meetings with customers and subcontractors, and when necessary, manage technical issues related to this.
- Takes the technical, budgetary and schedule responsibility for the fulfilment of the assigned engineering tasks including the handover to other disciplines and teams
- Education in Electrical/Software/Aerospace Engineering, M.Sc. level with a proven expertise and track record in embedded SW development and/or space-flight Engineering
- Has advanced knowledge of real time software design, integration, validation and verification
- Is a profound programmer in C
- Excelent knowledge in signal processing and algorithm implementation in software
- Good knowledge in implementation of hardware drivers and modern communication protocols
- Is very well acquainted with software engineering standards (incl. ECSS), methods, processes and tools
- Has a very good ability to collaborate and to share know-how with other team members
- Has the ability to present and justify design solutions during internal or customer reviews
- Experience with agile mindset and way of working
- Application software know-how in the area of internet protocols (IP) and/or Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN)
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and software for multi-core System-on-the-Chip (SoC)
- Knowledge in cyber security and quality assurance
- Experience with software implementation in assembler
- Good understanding of adjacent areas such as system engineering and hardware design
- Has the will and ability to work in cross-functional agile teams
- Has the will and ability to independently take on new tasks outside his/her main competence area
- Follows the processes and makes suggestions on how to improve the processes
- Has a technical curiosity and is actively looking for new, more efficient solutions
- Has good collaboration skills and is looking for answers and solutions both within and outside the team, including other departments, companies, and suppliers
- Has a holistic perspective and has the team's goals in focus
- Is creative, solution-oriented, and open to outside influences with the ability to implement them internally
- Has a good understanding of cost aspects and contributes to our results
