Service description:
Development:
- The Software Specialist is responsible for the integration of customer requirements, through performing and/or coordination configurations of the different software components.
- The Software Specialist performs fit-gap analyses of the software components linked to their product, to identify which requirements can be covered through configuration (“fit”) and which requirements cannot (“gap”).
- They assess whether a “gap” is acceptable or whether custom development is required, for which they define the functional and technical requirements (e.g. translate user stories into functional requirements, consolidate functional design). Custom development dependent and limited on the capabilities of the respective software.
- Software Specialists have strong expertise in the software components they are specialized in, and how the software’s capabilities can be of value for Elia’s Group’s products. They demonstrate expertise with regards to a software field, with a strong understanding of the capabilities, advantages and disadvantages, etc.
- Software Specialists have domain expertise of the products they are part of, except for products that are not domain specific.
- Software Specialists oversee the integration and adaptation of the software (of the product) into Elia Group’s other systems (including products). The Software Specialist supports then the coordination with other functional and technical platforms during development phase.
- For RFPs, Software Specialists define and evaluate the technical requirements and contribute to the functional and non-functional requirements.
- They support the software adherence to Elia's internal IT standards (security, technology, etc.)
- Actively contributes to the solution architecture of the product, to ensure recommended solution architecture meets functional & non-functional requirements).
- “For very specific features for which his expertise is required (e.g. EMS), could support testers with preparation/execution of test scenarios.”
Operations:
- Contributes actively (functional & domain expertise) to Incident and Problem Management
- Support dev team with the organization of the software’s maintenance (supplier relationship when relevant, analysis/monitoring of SLA/KPIs, make recommendations on possible software improvements (organizational/technical), etc.)
- The Software Specialist supports the coordination with other functional and technical platforms internally during operational phase when needed.
Product Management:
- Proactively propose/review evolutions to the functional and technical roadmap of the software in support of the Product Owner's business roadmap and vision.
- Support Tech lead for providing IT costs estimations (in Euros and resources) and advice on needed IT profiles.
- Software Specialists support the product owner in license negotiations and SLA's definitions.
- Software Specialists support the product owner with supplier management.
Requirements:
- Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in software integration or solution management.
- In-depth knowledge of specific software solutions and their capabilities (configuration, integration, limitations).
- Experience with fit-gap analysis and the definition of functional and technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and IT standards (security, compliance).
- Familiar with ITSM processes (incident, problem management).
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively in English.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Proactive and autonomous.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Team spirit and customer oriented.
