Job Description

At Danske Bank, our red team specialists are key contributors to threat-led security testing and adversary emulation across the Group. You will work in small, highly skilled teams to design, develop and execute red team operations against complex, real-world environments with active defenders.

The workplace is located in Vilnius. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, requiring at least three days in the office).

This role does not include a relocation allowance.

You will:

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of authorized red team operations aligned with Group policies, rules of engagement and legal obligations
  • Apply broad technical knowledge and subject matter expertise on adversarial threats, TTPs and OPSEC throughout the engagement lifecycle
  • Chain vulnerabilities, gain persistence and move laterally while managing detection risk against modern defense controls
  • Perform root cause analysis of findings and communicate clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally
  • Conduct independent vulnerability research to discover new weaknesses or TTPs relevant to the bank’s technology estate
  • Develop realistic scenarios and artefacts that emulate threat actors for simulated testing, including TIBEREU/TIBER-DK
  • Provide pragmatic remediation recommendations focused on reducing business risk and validation support
  • Produce technical reports, debrief internal Group functions and collaborate with blue team to improve detection and response

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in offensive security roles such as red teaming or penetration testing
  • Practical experience across multiple red team engagements
  • Solid understanding of red teaming methodology including recon, exploitation, persistence, lateral movement, post exploitation and exfiltration
  • Ability to explain tools and techniques used in each phase and their purpose
  • Experience with common security testing tools such as Burp Suite, C2 frameworks, Kali Linux and open-source security tools
  • Effective scripting in Linux and Windows, with experience in one or more languages such as Python
  • Advanced English, both written and verbal

Monthly salary range from 3520 EUR to 5280 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).

Your job function (position) in the job contract will be IT Security Engineer. From 1 April 2026 it will be renamed to Cyber Security under our new job architecture, with no impact on the role or responsibilities.
