The role

At FRISS, we are on a mission to revolutionize the insurance industry through new technologies and data-driven insights. As a data scientist, you will play a key role in translating data and insights into actionable advice to our customers. Additionally, you are expected to share those insights directly with your colleagues and our customers.

Every year, we process millions of insurance claims worldwide. Your job? To analyze this data, identify fraud patterns, and build analyses to support our customers with clear insights. Fraudsters are constantly evolving their tactics. Your challenge is to stay ahead, outsmart them, and strengthen our fraud detection capabilities.

The team

The Analytics Team operates within our Business Operations department and consists of two experienced data scientists and a fraud intelligence analyst. Positioned between the Product team and our customer-facing consultants, the team has a unique and strategic role. Working on a diverse range of projects that address both internal and customer needs.

By analyzing customer data, the team uncovers key patterns, identifies areas for improvement, and translates these insights into actionable recommendations. These findings are then presented directly to customers, creating valuable interactions that help them optimize their fraud detection efforts and enhance their overall performance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain fraud detection models by identifying possible improvements and renew these models for customers.
  • Analyze large datasets and interact with customers to detect fraud trends, anomalies, and emerging threats.
  • Conduct in-depth business performance reviews to assess how well our fraud prevention solutions are performing for customers.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to enhance fraud detection models and strategies.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve fraud detection and risk management approaches.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Data science, Analytics, Statistics, Econometrics, Criminology, Mathematic,..)
  • Working experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance fraud detection is a plus.
  • A strong analytical mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python.
