Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking an HPC Applications Engineer to support and optimize high-performance computing (HPC) research environments. The role focuses on managing HPC services, improving scientific workflows, and helping researchers optimize computational workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and operate research computing services and HPC applications
- Manage HPC platforms using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to HPC applications and infrastructure
- Assist users with debugging, optimization, and performance tuning of scientific workloads
- Monitor, maintain, and improve HPC system reliability and performance
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Linux-based HPC environments
- Hands-on experience with HPC job schedulers (e.g., SLURM)
- Programming/scripting in Python, R, Shell, C/C++, or Golang
- Knowledge of HPC performance optimization and parallel computing
- Experience working with large-scale HPC systems
Preferred Experience
- Parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP, pthreads)
- HPC storage systems (Lustre, GPFS)
- GPU / AI / ML frameworks (CUDA, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Scientific computing tools (simulation, bioinformatics, or data visualization)
- Workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Nextflow, Cromwell)
- Containers (Docker, Singularity, Enroot)
- Cloud & DevOps tools (AWS, Terraform, Ansible)
