Project Engineer (m/f)

Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing capital and expense projects in a manner that follows all process and technical standards. This role focuses on the detailed engineering and implementation aspects of projects, including preparing technical specifications, coordinating with vendors, supporting FATs, and ensuring accurate installation and commissioning of process machinery and manufacturing support systems. The Project Engineer will provide technical expertise to improve equipment performance, troubleshoot issues during start-up, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support in the design, development, purchase, installation, commissioning, start-up, and improvement of production machinery and support systems. Ensure improvements are sustained through follow-up and documentation.
- Participate in operational improvement activities such as Focused Improvements, SMED, packaging systems analysis, and Lean Manufacturing projects, providing technical input and implementation support.
- Prepare project documentation (e.g., cost estimates, schedules, technical specifications) and monitor assigned projects to ensure completion within approved scope, budget, and timeline
- Support equipment selection and layout by providing technical recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, and space utilization. Implement design changes and modifications as directed to enhance machine performance and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards during project execution, supporting timely submission of required documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges during project execution. Provide engineering expertise and contribute to problem-solving activities.
- Assist in cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities and implementing approved solutions within assigned projects.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering
- Basic understanding of packaging machinery, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles. Familiarity with GMP standards and safety practices.
- Relevant project management experience in FMCG, food, cosmetics, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries is a plus.
- Ability to assist in project planning, documentation, and execution under supervision.
- Willingness to learn Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, TPM) and apply them in real projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Analytical thinking and eagerness to participate in troubleshooting and improvement activities.
