Join a high-impact engineering team responsible for powering real-time digital experiences used by communities around the world. In this role, you will build and scale live video, events, chat, and notification systems that enable seamless interaction at scale. You’ll work across the full stack, contributing to both product innovation and platform reliability in high-traffic environments. This is an opportunity to shape performance, scalability, and developer experience in systems that operate in real time. Operating in a remote-first, highly collaborative environment, you’ll partner closely with product, design, and engineering peers to deliver meaningful user experiences that connect people instantly.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features supporting live video, real-time chat, events, and notification systems.
  • Work across backend and frontend technologies, primarily using Ruby on Rails and React, to ship high-quality product updates.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver impactful features in fast-paced release cycles.
  • Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of real-time systems handling significant traffic loads.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making to uphold engineering standards.
  • Maintain and evolve existing live product surfaces, continuously improving system health and developer experience.
  • Strengthen infrastructure and tooling to support sustainable growth of live and event-driven features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer building complex web applications in production environments.
  • Strong professional experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Proven track record of shipping features in dynamic, fast-moving product organizations.
  • Ability to work comfortably across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional product teams with designers and product managers.
  • Solid understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and system reliability best practices.
  • Professional-level English proficiency (CEFR C2 / ILR Level 5).
  • Bonus: Experience with real-time technologies such as WebRTC, HLS, WebSockets, or Amazon SNS.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with analytics or event systems like ClickHouse.
  • Bonus: Prior work on live streaming, chat platforms, notifications, or real-time collaboration tools.
