Game Developer – Contract

Join a project focused on enhancing a mobile multiplayer gaming platform that integrates Unity games within a React Native app. The platform leverages Photon for multiplayer functionality and utilizes a custom native bridge for seamless communication between React Native and Unity. This short-term engagement requires a senior Unity multiplayer engineer to conduct a comprehensive technical review and audit of the current architecture. The primary objective is to identify and resolve critical issues related to multiplayer synchronization, state persistence, and platform integration, ensuring a robust and scalable gaming experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform an in-depth audit of the multiplayer architecture, focusing on Photon implementation and Unity scene management.
• Analyze the communication flow between React Native and Unity, including the custom native bridge.
• Investigate and diagnose issues such as game timer synchronization, disconnect/reconnect handling, and multiplayer state persistence.
• Review iOS lifecycle integration to ensure stability and reliability during gameplay.
• Deliver a detailed report outlining findings, root causes, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Present audit results and recommendations to the development team, providing technical guidance as needed.
