Kforce is working with a client looking for a Data Analyst to join an IT-focused analytics team supporting data-driven initiatives across the organization. This role requires 5 days onsite in downtown Saint Louis, MO. Summary: This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and developers to deliver accurate, timely data insights through ad-hoc reporting and analysis. You'll translate business questions into clear data requirements, build queries to extract meaningful insights, and serve as a subject matter expert for key data sets. This position plays a hands-on role in enabling smarter decisions through reliable, well-documented data. What You'll Do:
- Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests from business and product partners
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure the right data is being delivered
- Write and optimize T-SQL queries to support analysis, reporting, and broader data initiatives
- Validate and review data outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Provide peer review and support to other analysts on the team, especially for complex requests
- Identify opportunities to improve team processes, documentation, and data practices
- Manage and prioritize incoming requests based on urgency, impact, and team capacity
- Build strong working knowledge of internal applications, business processes, and how they impact data
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned raw data sources and maintain related documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in financial, investment, technical, or analytical roles
- Working knowledge of financial services concepts and terminology, with exposure to wealth management preferred
- Solid understanding of T-SQL, relational databases, and basic data modeling principles
- Ability to write SQL queries that aggregate, analyze, and model large, complex data sets
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns and relationships in data
- Interest in growing skills related to building normalized datasets for enterprise reporting and business intelligence
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain data findings to non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience working with ticketing systems
- Familiarity with reporting, documentation, and productivity tools
- Exposure to system monitoring and logging tools
- Understanding of client/server architecture, APIs, and relational databases
- Ability to write intermediate SQL queries
- AWS and Python experience preferred
