InsightWise is the AI platform purpose-built for consultants, helping leading firms and strategy teams win and deliver more work, faster. We are looking for a full stack developer who can harness AI to deliver high-quality production code at startup speed. Someone who is genuinely curious and stays across the latest developments in AI tooling: models, frameworks, what's worth adopting and what's hype. You use every tool at your disposal to move fast but the code that ships will be clean, tested and built to endure.

What you'll do:

• Own features end-to-end, from async API design to UI delivery
• Build and optimise AI agent workflows that power real consulting outcomes
• Work across our document pipeline, from rich text editing to polished Word/PowerPoint output
• Work directly with the founding team to shape the product and architecture
• Ship fast, ship often, and keep the codebase something you're proud of

• Backend: Python (async-first), FastAPI, Pydantic, AWS (Lambdas, ECS)
• Data: PostgreSQL (Aurora), MongoDB/DocumentDB
• Frontend: React
• AI: Pydantic AI, AWS Bedrock (Claude)
• Orchestration: Temporal
• Document layer: ProseMirror (rich text), DOCX pipelines
• Infra: AWS CDK, S3, SNS/SQS, API Gateway
• Observability: structlog, Logfire

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of professional experience, enough to know what good code looks like
• Strong async Python backend chops (FastAPI, async patterns, clean architecture)
• Comfortable with both relational (PostgreSQL) data models, with migrations via Alembic/SQLModel/SQLAlchemy
• Comfortable in React on the frontend
• You thrive in small teams where your work directly shapes the roadmap and trajectory
• Experience with AWS services in production
• You value tests that run against real data
• Temporal experience is a big plus
• You use AI as a force multiplier, not a crutch
• You work hard, move fast, and you're genuinely energised by how quickly the AI landscape is shifting. You don't wait for best practices to settle, you're already experimenting, adapting, and building in new capabilities for how you ship.

Bonus points:

• Hands-on with AI agents or orchestration frameworks (Pydantic AI, LangGraph, etc.)
• Experience building document generation pipelines (python-docx, PowerPoint, ProseMirror)
• Familiar with AWS CDK for infrastructure-as-code
• Observability mindset; structured logging, tracing, instrumentation
