Senior IT Project Manager (m/f/d)

To support our growing organization we are currently looking for a Senior IT Project Manager

Role Purpose

Lead a strategic project at GATX Rail Europe. The role requires strong project leadership, stakeholders' management, and the ability to bridge business and technical domains. The candidate must ensure effective coordination between GATX teams and vendors, while maintaining high professional standards and cultural alignment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of a strategic project, including planning, execution, delivery, and stabilization
• Coordinate internal GATX teams and external vendors, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration
• Analyze vendor proposals and ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements
• Maintain a clear overview of priorities and ensure timely decision-making
• Facilitate communication between business and technical stakeholders
• Ensure project governance, reporting, and risk management are in place
• Represent the project in executive-level discussions and provide strategic updates
• Track project deliverables using appropriate IT tools
• Handle project changes appropriately (change management)

You are a good fit if you have:

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in project management, including strategic initiatives
• Proven experience in managing large-scale projects (with volume of > 500 PD), ideally involving custom software delivery (preferable in .NET) and SAP
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS) would be a strong asset
• Experience in cross-functional and international project environments
• Agile mindset & experience in Agile methodology and their tools
• Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) would be strong asset
• Experience with the MS office suite, Jira, Confluence
• Fluency in English
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability, ability to build trust and maintain good standing with Senior Management and vendors
• Ability to understand technical content and software architecture at a high level
• Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines, details-oriented
• Strong stakeholders' management, communication and presentation skills

A minimum salary of € 80.000 gross per year is offered according to the collective agreement with the possibility of overpayment according to your qualifications and professional experience.
