The Platform

We are advising a Northern European industrial group operating at the nexus of advanced materials, electrification, sustainable process industries and circular value chains.

The business generates multi-billion revenues globally and controls strategically significant industrial assets across Europe, North America and selected growth markets.

The Board has mandated a multi-year transformation agenda centred on:

  • Disciplined capital allocation
  • Portfolio optimisation and active ownership
  • Targeted inorganic expansion
  • Industrial technology integration
  • Decarbonisation-led competitiveness

Corporate Development sits at the core of this agenda.

The team acts as the internal capital allocator and strategic engine of the group.

Core Responsibilities

1. Transaction Leadership

You will drive transactions from thesis formation to post-closing value tracking.

Scope includes:

  • Development of investment theses across industrial adjacencies
  • Advanced financial modelling (integrated three-statement models, DCF, scenario modelling, LBO logic where relevant)
  • Strategic valuation under capital-intensive constraints
  • Commercial assessment across global value chains
  • Coordination of internal diligence workstreams
  • Management of external advisors (legal, financial, technical, environmental)
  • Preparation of Investment Committee and Board memoranda
  • Participation in SPA negotiation and structuring discussions
  • Integration blueprint design and synergy tracking frameworks

The role requires the ability to move fluidly between modelling depth and executive-level synthesis.

2. Strategic Portfolio Architecture

Beyond transactions, the seat carries responsibility for portfolio logic.

This includes:

  • Mapping industrial ecosystems across advanced materials and energy infrastructure
  • Evaluating vertical integration versus partnership models
  • Assessing carve-outs, JVs and minority structures
  • Scenario modelling under commodity, regulatory and decarbonisation pathways
  • Long-term capital allocation optimisation
  • ROIC and capital efficiency analytics across business units

3. Industrial Transformation & Value Creation

The platform is repositioning itself along energy transition themes.

You will:

  • Identify inorganic growth vectors in process innovation and sustainable materials
  • Evaluate technology-driven acquisitions and minority investments
  • Analyse decarbonisation-driven cost curves
  • Monitor global industry shifts across electrification and industrial circularity
  • Build data-backed insights for the executive leadership team

This role blends corporate strategy with private equity discipline.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a high-calibre professional with 3–6 years of experience in one of the following environments:

  • Investment Banking (M&A or sector coverage)
  • Strategy Consulting (corporate or industrial focus)
  • Transaction Services / Valuations
  • Corporate Development within capital-intensive industries

Experience in industrials, chemicals, energy, infrastructure, advanced materials or process industries is advantageous.

Core capabilities:

  • Strong financial modelling depth
  • Ability to structure ambiguity into decision frameworks
  • Comfort operating in capital-intensive environments
  • Executive-level communication skills
  • Commercial judgement grounded in numbers

Private Equity exposure or transaction-heavy execution experience is viewed positively.

The ideal profile combines technical depth with strategic breadth.

What Makes This Seat Distinct

This is not a modelling-only role.

It is a capital deployment platform.

Differentiators:

  • Full transaction ownership from thesis to integration
  • Direct exposure to multi-billion capital allocation decisions
  • Board-level interaction and visibility
  • Global asset exposure
  • Strategic influence on portfolio direction
  • Long-term oriented governance structure

This is a rare combination of:

Industrial operating depth

Private Equity logic

Strategic architecture

Within a stable, institutional environment.
