Python Developer

Role Overview:

I am currently working with a Berlin-based startup that is now looking for a Backend Python Engineer (f/m/d) to join thier growing team and help build the first AI-driven global supplier search engine. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backend systems and APIs for our AI-driven supplier search engine.
• Work with Elasticsearch to build and optimize search functionality and scalable data systems.
• Collaborate with the frontend, product, and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Python.
• Create and maintain robust automated tests (unit, integration).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance in production to meet SLOs.
• Take full ownership of backend projects, from initial design to deployment and operation.
• Actively contribute to architectural decisions and improve our codebase.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.
• Expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with scalable database systems and data processing.
• Experience with application monitoring and debugging tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
• Proficiency in automated testing tools (e.g., Pytest).
• Solid understanding of performance optimization and system reliability.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
