People Operations Specialist – France (m/f/x)
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on People Operations Specialist to join our international People & Culture team. In this role, you will take operational HR ownership for France while contributing to our broader People Operations Team. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth employee experience, compliant HR processes, and high‑quality operational delivery in a dynamic, fast‑growing organisation.
You will join an international company operating across 13 countries, with strong growth driven by acquisitions and a collaborative, cross‑European business model. This role offers high impact, autonomy, and broad exposure across our People Operations, HR Business Partnering, and leadership teams.
The Role
As People Operations Specialist, you will be the primary operational HR point of contact for France while working closely with our global People Operations team. You will manage employee lifecycle processes, coordinate payroll, support managers with operational HR topics, and contribute to global HR initiatives.
The role is varied, operational, and suited for someone who enjoys structure, ownership, and delivering excellence in an international environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
People Operations & Lifecycle Management
- Full ownership of lifecycle processes in France (pre‑onboarding to offboarding)
- Preparation of contracts, amendments, HR documentation and HRIS maintenance
- Ensure a smooth, compliant, and consistent employee experience
- First‑line HR support for employees and managers
- Coordinate monthly payroll with external providers
HR Administration, Compliance & Employee Relations
- Maintain compliant personnel files and French labour law documentation
- Manage benefits, absences, working hours and routine HR queries
- Prepare disciplinary letters, probation evaluations, and ER documentation
- Collaborate with HRBPs and Legal on more complex cases
Works Council & Local HR Initiatives
- Support the setup and administration of the works council
- Ensure compliance with French social dialogue obligations
- Work closely with Paris leadership on local HR initiatives
International & Global Support
- Provide operational HR support for UK & Ireland and other European/Global markets
- Contribute to cross‑market process alignment and People Operations improvements
- Support HR integration activities during acquisition‑driven growth
- Participate in global HR projects, system enhancements, and policy updates
Your Profile
Professional Background
- 5–6+ years of experience in HR Operations / People Operations / HR Administration
- Strong experience in payroll coordination for France (UK/Ireland a plus)
- Solid understanding of French labour law, contracts and HR processes
- Experience in fast‑scaling, international, or acquisition‑driven environments beneficial
- Confident working with HRIS systems and structured processes

- Proactive, organised and detail‑oriented with a hands‑on mindset
- Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international setting
- Collaborative and able to work across countries and functions
- Curious, solution‑oriented, and eager to contribute to People Operations improvements
Languages
- Fluent French & English (required)
- German is an advantage
