Exide Technologies’ Energy Solutions division is developing and manufacturing stationary energy storage batteries, from backup power to large-scale storage systems (BESS and C&I). Our storage systems are used in UPS, Telecom, Datacenters, Public Transport, in Front-of- and Behind-the-Meter applications and many more.

About the job:

For our fast growing division Energy Solutions in Castanheira do Ribatejo, Portugal at the earliest possible date we are looking for a: Production Engineer.

Reporting to the Plant Production Manager, your mission will be to ensure the flow of the production process, ensuring quality, quantity, costs, delivery times and safety. This role leads with production teams, interacts with the other departments that are involved in the production process and participates in the implementation of preventive and corrective actions.

What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?

• Focus on workers safety and predicting the consequences for the environment.
• Monitoring of production reports.
• Monitor the 5S and continuous improvement tools in the production area.
• Monitoring the production area and any related projects to ensure efficiency.
• Support the inventories.
• Support the best quality of products and compliance with the specifications of the production process.
• Support plan production programs to ensure the achievement of these objectives.
• Support the management of equipment and human resources according to the production flow.
• Identification of improvement opportunities.
• Develop and execute improvement actions.

What we ask for:

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or similar.
• Professional experience of at least 2 to 5 years in an industrial environment.
• Results oriented. High level of execution and agility.
• Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
• Good communication skills.
• Planning, organizing and time management.
• English is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of IT tools and MS-Office.
• Lean and Continuous Improvement tools.
• Interest in shopfloor operations and interaction with employees at their work areas.
