Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Product Owner to support Portfolio Strategy & Operations within a domain. This role focuses on day-to-day delivery mechanics - backlog readiness, coordination, documentation, and operational rigor—so the team can deliver consistent, high-quality data products.
It’s an ideal early-career role for someone who wants to grow into end-to-end product ownership, building deep domain expertise and learning how to translate business priorities into scalable data products that drive real impact.
You will partner with Senior Product Owners, delivery teams (Analytics Engineering, BI/Insights, Data Science, NLP), and business stakeholders to translate needs into well-defined work, support releases, and help drive adoption through feedback loops.
Responsibilities
- Own backlog hygiene and readiness: draft epics/user stories, clarify acceptance criteria, and ensure work is delivery-ready for execution sprints.
- Coordinate delivery mechanics: support refinement, planning, demos, and working sessions; track actions, dependencies, and risks (RAID).
- Collaborate closely with technical teams (Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, BI/Insights, Data Science/NLP) to clarify requirements, manage dependencies, and ensure solutions are feasible, high-quality, and delivered on time
- Support demand shaping by gathering inputs, documenting workflows, and preparing problem statements and success measures for Sr PO review.
- Coordinate release readiness and change enablement artifacts (release notes, training inputs, UAT coordination, rollout checklists).
- Capture post-release feedback and product health signals; maintain an improvement backlog and support iteration cycles.
- Support AI/GenAI pilots and adoption readiness (test plans, user feedback capture, documentation) to help move intelligent capabilities from prototype to practical use.
Required:
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into structured requirements, epics, or user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Experience supporting data/analytics projects or products - working with datasets, KPIs/metrics, reporting/BI, and partnering with technical teams to deliver data-driven solutions
- Experience coordinating cross-functional work (product operations, business analysis, project/program support, analytics delivery, or similar).
- Strong interest in data, analytics, and AI-enabled products; comfortable learning new tools and concepts quickly.
- Excellent organization and communication skills; ability to coordinate stakeholders and keep work moving.
- Comfort working in an agile environment and using common delivery tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence or equivalents).
- Working knowledge of SQL and ability to validate outputs with analysts/engineers
- Experience with BI & Data Science tools (e.g., Power BI, Data Bricks, AWS) and/or analytics engineering concepts (e.g., dbt, semantic layers).
- Familiarity with AI/GenAI concepts or tools (e.g., prompting, copilots, NLP), and interest in responsible AI practices.
- Experience supporting business process improvement or shared service workflows in any function.
