Junior Scrum Master

  • Support the Product Manager and Product Owner in day-to-day activities, including backlog management
  • Run and facilitate scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming/review, and retrospectives) for the scrum team
  • Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver value to customers

The Junior Scrum Master will work closely with business users (Product Owners), the Product Manager, and the delivery &/or BAU Support to deliver solutions for the current process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Manager and Product Owner in day-to-day activities, including backlog management, sprint planning, and team coordination.
  • Run and facilitate scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming/review, and retrospectives) for the scrum team.
  • Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver value to customers.
  • Assist in aligning digital delivery to the vision and strategic direction set by senior leadership.
  • Help assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team.
  • Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel.
  • Support digital delivery in accordance with strategic intent.
  • Help prepare and report Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies to senior management as needed.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame or retribution.
  • Provide servant leadership and lead by example, supporting the team and fostering a collaborative culture.

Key Qualifications

  • Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, SSM, or equivalent) is required.
  • Junior-level experience in any of the following roles - Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Project Management role.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum principles, servant leadership, facilitation, and team empowerment.
  • Experience or exposure to project management, business analysis, or product ownership in a technology or software development environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
