Job Overview

We are looking for a technically capable Network Engineer to support the implementation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring reliable connectivity, monitoring network performance, and resolving operational issues in accordance with established IT service management practices.

The ideal candidate should possess Cisco networking expertise and ITIL certification, with hands-on experience supporting routing, switching, and network troubleshooting in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Support

• Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewall devices
• Perform configuration and installation of Cisco network equipment
• Assist with integrating new technologies into existing network environments

Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor network performance and ensure availability of critical network services
• Investigate and resolve connectivity issues such as network latency, packet loss, and hardware faults
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as ping, traceroute, and monitoring platforms to identify root causes

Network Configuration & Maintenance

• Support routing and switching configuration including VLAN, OSPF, and other routing protocols
• Perform firmware updates, patching, and scheduled maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations and operational procedures

Network Security

• Support implementation of network security controls including firewalls, VPN connectivity, and access policies
• Assist with monitoring and responding to security-related alerts
• Follow established security best practices to safeguard network infrastructure

IT Service Operations

• Manage network incidents, service requests, and problem tickets in accordance with ITIL service management processes
• Provide timely escalation and coordination with senior engineers or vendors when required
• Maintain clear documentation of incident resolution and operational changes

Collaboration & User Support

• Provide support for users experiencing network connectivity issues
• Work closely with system administrators and other IT teams to ensure network compatibility with enterprise systems
• Participate in operational reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is mandatory
• ITIL Foundation certification is required
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
• Experience working with Cisco routers, switches, and network infrastructure
• Familiarity with routing and switching concepts such as VLAN, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise network environments
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Wireshark
• Exposure to wireless networking technologies
• Basic knowledge of cloud networking environments
