Senior Network Engineer – Juniper Specialist

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep Juniper expertise to join a large-scale enterprise environment in Sydney. This role is suited to a hands-on design and delivery specialist who thrives in complex network environments and can operate confidently across architecture, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.

This is a hybrid role combining remote flexibility with on-site collaboration as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and validate enterprise-grade network solutions with a strong focus on Juniper EX, QFX, and MX platforms
• Lead low-level design (LLD) documentation, implementation runbooks, and operational handover materials
• Deliver and support large-scale LAN, WAN, and Data Centre deployments
• Deploy and optimise Juniper-based switching and routing environments
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF routing protocols in enterprise environments
• Deploy and support SD-WAN solutions (experience with Cisco Viptela advantageous)
• Design and implement enterprise firewall and segmentation solutions (Palo Alto or Cisco FTD)
• Deliver secure VPN solutions and network segmentation strategies
• Troubleshoot and optimise complex, high-availability network environments
• Collaborate with architects, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery

Technical Requirements (Essential)

• 8+ years’ experience in enterprise network engineering (design + hands-on implementation)
• Proven experience in large-scale, multi-site network environments
• Expert-level Juniper skills:
• EX Series (Campus switching)
• QFX Series (Data Centre)
• MX Series (Core/WAN routing)
• Strong routing expertise (BGP, OSPF)
• Experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto or Cisco FTD)
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
• Certification required:
• JNCIP-ENT or JNCIE-ENT (preferred)
• CCNP / CCIE considered if strong Juniper experience is demonstrated
• Ability to pass background checks prior to contract commencement

Highly Regarded / Bonus Skills

• Network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible)
• Infrastructure-as-Code exposure
• Experience in structured enterprise delivery frameworks
• Exposure to Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
