This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an ML Engineer in Austria.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced ML models that directly influence user engagement, recommendations, and monetization across multiple digital products. You will own projects end-to-end, from data exploration and experimentation to production deployment and monitoring. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Analytics, MLOps, and Development, you will translate data insights into actionable product improvements. This role offers the opportunity to innovate on recommender systems, lifetime value prediction, and other high-impact ML initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative, remote-first environment. You will have the freedom to explore new ML approaches, mentor teammates, and contribute to shaping the ML infrastructure and practices across the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Own ML projects end-to-end, including data preparation, model development, deployment, and monitoring in production.
  • Improve and iterate on recommender and ranking models using offline evaluations and A/B testing.
  • Develop and refine value prediction signals such as LTV, conversion probability, and first purchase likelihood.
  • Build scalable training and inference pipelines, ensuring data quality, reproducibility, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Deploy ML solutions via batch jobs or APIs, using Docker and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to define success metrics and translate model outcomes into product decisions.
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the team through code reviews, documentation, and mentoring.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in ML development, from data exploration to production deployment.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience with pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
  • Solid understanding of ML algorithms and the ability to select appropriate approaches for different tasks.
  • Experience with recommender systems, ranking problems, and model evaluation techniques (offline metrics, A/B testing).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets.
  • Production ML experience, including training/inference pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and containerization with Docker.
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a remote, distributed team.
